Job summary

Sumitomo Electric is seeking a Centerless - Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team and learn a unique skill with growth opportunities. You will operate machines to produce highly repetitive parts, with setups performed by others and instructions provided for operating procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, knowledge of machine shop practices, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Prior CNC grinding experience (Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida) is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Strongly preferred candidates have previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment such as Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow directions.

Brief Description

Operate one or more machines to perform simple machine operations on highly repetitive and standardized parts and details on metal or other material.

The setups are made by others and instructions are given on operating procedures.

Work is performed under close supervision and subject to strict process inspection procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Well-lit machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
