Primary Purpose

Manage retail operations for the assigned department, making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality, presentation, and customer service. Build strong relations with associates and customers, promote a positive culture, and ensure store conditions—appearance, security, safety, and food safety—are maintained at high standards. Responsible for proper control of company assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Foster a positive, inclusive environment to retain associates and customers.
  2. Ensure all quality standards are met.
  3. Manage department operations following established practices.
  4. Maintain department appearance and presentation.
  5. Hire, train, and develop associates.
  6. Achieve departmental financial goals.
  7. Supervise department associates’ performance.
  8. Provide excellent customer service and role model friendly interactions.
  9. Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress.
  10. Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
  11. Meet physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations.
  12. Recognize accomplishments and provide constructive feedback.
  13. Treat all colleagues with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  14. Ensure associates are properly trained, including certification in food safety.
  15. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  16. Develop product knowledge across the department.
  17. Utilize RF units and other tools as needed.
  18. Assist in inventory management to maximize sales and reduce shrink.
  19. Conduct performance appraisals in line with company standards.
  20. Maintain effective work schedules.
  21. Use company systems like MPP, financial reports, and scheduling tools.
  22. Follow operational and merchandising standards to maximize profitability.
  23. Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
  24. Understand and address causes of inventory shrinkage.
  25. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use computers and communication systems.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 60 lbs. occasionally; push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Meet activity and volume standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in store management or equivalent.
  • College degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification as a Food Safety Manager or willingness to attain within 90 days.
  • Support attainment of financial and operational objectives.
  • Foster a sales-driven, customer-focused culture.
  • Maintain store appearance and product quality.
  • Manage and develop team members.
  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Understand merchandising and inventory management techniques.
  • Maintain confidentiality of store information.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25 hourly
