• In the absence of the department manager, manage the department operations in accordance with established department standard practices.
• Maintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance and comply with policy.
• Coach associates to expectations and recognize great service.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and systems.
• Maintain communication with the store manager and organization.
• Maintain merchandising techniques and layouts per standards.
• Ensure department pricing and coding policy compliance.
• Follow management planning guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Support safety standards; report needed repairs; keep area clean.
• Develop product knowledge and training for department staff.
• Understand the Standard Practice manual.
• Ensure proper training of assigned associates.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Maintain department appearance and presentation.
• Treat associates with fairness and provide feedback.
• Perform all special projects and duties as assigned.
