Job summary

Sylvan Learning is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee day-to-day operations across the Glenview, Skokie, and Oak Lawn centers. You will assist the Center Director with sales, scheduling, education plans, and reporting to parents.

Responsibilities include maintaining student progress, coordinating enrollment conferences, and ensuring professional staff conduct aligned with Sylvan standards at all three locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Teaching Certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in Education.
• Experience in sales, customer service, and office management preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and accountability with strong follow-up and attention to detail.
• Ability to work 20-25 hrs per week.
• Afternoon/evenings Mon-Thu 3:00-7:30pm and Saturdays 9:00-2:00pm.
• Authorized to work in the US and pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of Sylvan centers to ensure student success and customer satisfaction.
• Work across all 3 centers to support operations as needed.
• Support the Sylvan sales process through active management of inquiry calls, proctoring initial student assessments, and leading enrollment conferences.
• Monitor the integrity of student educational plans and share progress reports with parents.
• Demonstrate and uphold a high level of staff morale and professionalism and ensure center appearance.
• Support the Center Director in oversight and management of center teaching and clerical staff.
