Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

• Run tutoring sessions for public speakers. Session types (approx. 60-minutes in length, focused on a single area or combination, depending on individual needs)
• Technologies: competency with WCOnline tutor scheduling platform
• Topics covered during a session may include: audience analysis, eye contact, vocal projection, managing speaking anxiety, critiquing visual aids, etc.
• Attending monthly tutor training events
• Presenting workshops and class visits
• Staffing resource fair tables (three events annually: august, february, april)

Requirements:

• Must be a COM major
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above
• Provide contact information of at least one Villanova faculty member who can provide an endorsement
• Must have completed Public Speaking class by start date for the semester

Additional Information:

Past peer mentoring or peer tutoring experience prefered but not required.

Physical Demands Summary:

Being physically on campus to run sessions out of Falvey Library.
