Job summary

Eckerd Connects seeks a Center Director in Albany, GA to pilot programs that prepare disadvantaged youth for meaningful careers through residential training, education, and vocational pathways. You will lead staff, ensure safety, and maintain program excellence while collaborating with community partners.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years in program management, with a focus on youth development; a valid driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years' experience in Program Management and direction; experience working with youth.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • The Center Director plans, organizes, administers, and controls programs and activities to operate the Job Corps center.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient student training program.
  • Ensure the center meets goals, maintains 100% OBS, and reports to the Regional Director.
  • Build relationships with community leaders and workforce boards.
  • Foster high employee morale and retention, and provide necessary reports to leadership.
  • Ensure safe operation of the center and student safety.

Salary Rate: $150,000

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Center Director reports to the Regional Director of Operations and is a salaried, exempt position.
  • The Center Director plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center. These objectives are to prepare young, disadvantaged youth for useful employment by providing comprehensive residential training, educational and vocational training, and positive paths through personal example, understanding, and patience by a combined effort of all staff.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient and effective student training program.
  • Responsible for the center meeting established goals and objectives and maintaining 100% OBS.
  • The Center Director builds a continuing relationship with community leaders and social, religious, civic, and service organizations. Serves on state and local workforce investment boards and youth councils.
  • Fosters an atmosphere that will encourage high employee morale and result in the highest standards of performance and staff retention.
  • Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters.
  • Keeps the Regional Director informed on all matters sufficient to warrant attention.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the center and also the safety of the students.
