Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Social Development Director in Laredo, Texas to supervise Residential Living Counseling, CPP and Recreation/Fitness/Health Programs, ensuring compliance with government and management directives.

The role plans and coordinates departmental activities, guides staff development, and oversees staff scheduling for dorm and recreation coverage. A strong background in supervision and program management is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in counseling or work-related field preferred.
  • Three years of broad-based professional Job Corps or similar training program experience preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the Residential Living Counseling, CPP and Recreation/Fitness/Health Programs. Responsible for the management of social development functions, in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Plans, coordinates and manages the administrative and programmatic activities of the department, including coordination of the CSS program.
  • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement staff changes as approved by the Center Director.
  • Oversee the scheduling and operation of Center sponsored recreation activities and programs.
  • Oversee the staff schedule 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for dorm and recreation coverage.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff in dealing with behavior of students and resolving individual or group situations.
  • Develop and distribute weekly monthly and annual recreation/vocation plans and scheduled activities.
  • Coordinates the Career Success Standards /Conflict Resolution Programs and provides input on career development skills of students.

Salary Rate: $57,000
