Job summary

Alexandria Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support students in a Special Education setting at Alexandria Area High School. The role runs 6.5 hours per day and requires assisting with instruction, data collection, and behavior support to help students succeed in class and during transitions.

The paraprofessional will work under the teacher's supervision, reinforce lessons, and help implement IEPs, including one-on-one or small group support, with buses and during lunch and study

Qualifications

• Assist classroom teacher with student instruction and reinforce lessons.
• Collect and maintain data as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with behavior management and crisis intervention if needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students on bus, playground, and lunchroom.
• Communicate with teacher on schedules and progress.
• Attend meetings and in-services as requested.
