Job summary

CPCD is seeking a Center Assistant to support daily operations in Head Start and Early Head Start settings. The role includes administrative support, classroom assistance, and coverage during staff breaks to maintain a smooth, welcoming, and safe learning environment for children and families.

Starting November 2, this 36-hour weekly position advances through a structured pay scale with steps ranging from $17.59 to $22.34 per hour and requires CDA or higher credentials within two years.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain CDA Qualification within 2 years of employment.
• Experience working with groups of children up to age 5 in educational or childcare settings.
• Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date child files and logs to ensure licensing compliance.
• Ensures postings are current and center complies with health and licensing regulations.
• Coordinates and communicates with classroom teams and partners.
• Assists in classrooms to cover breaks and absences and supports a nurturing environment.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional relationships with families and staff.
