Job summary

City of Lake Worth Beach is seeking a Cemetery Sexton to oversee daily operations of two city cemeteries, ensuring safety and dignity for visitors. The role requires supervising staff, scheduling burials, and maintaining plots and records.

This full-time, non-exempt position offers benefits and a 40-hour work week based in Lake Worth Beach, FL. The successful candidate will work out of the Public Works Grounds Office and meet licensing and safety requirements as outlined in the job description.

Qualifications

• Supervisory and administrative methods knowledge.
• Clerical/financial recordkeeping for cemetery operations.
• Safety precautions for cemetery work and equipment.
• Knowledge of cemetery laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise and perform cemetery maintenance and burial prep.
• Manage burial plot layouts and grave markers with care.
• Maintain records of lot sales and burials.
• Coordinate with funeral directors for services.
