Job summary

SCI in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance Technician to perform open/close burials, install memorials, and maintain grounds and facilities according to company standards.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. You will follow safety rules, handle client family requests, and complete preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating hand-held tools and equipment commonly used in grounds/maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical equipment such as trucks, tractors, and tampers is a plus.
• Ability to read measuring devices and follow specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs openings & closings for burials, entombments and inurnments.
• Sets, installs, and assembles foundations, memorials, and markers.
• Installs outer burial containers.
• Handles and completes work orders from client families for grave/marker maintenance.
• Responds to and completes service/work orders.
• Conducts Interment Verification Procedures.
• Prepares burial area within 25-foot radius and keeps area clean.
• Fills grave, tamp, seeds, or sods.
• Adheres to safety rules and Universal Precautions.
• Maintains and protects company assets via preventive maintenance.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Completes Dignity University courses and other training.
• Adheres to the Dignity Memorial Promise.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
