Job summary

Service Corporation International in Westminster, CA is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance Associate to perform groundskeeping, grave preparation, and service area setup. You will handle grave digging support, marker installations, and routine facility upkeep with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including a shovel, weed trimmer, lawn mower and blower.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods and lift up to 150 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees and markers.
• Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways; snow removal may be required.
• Erects tents and arranges chairs for graveside ceremonies.
• Assists with openings/closings for interments and entombments.
• Maintains chapel for services and prepares crypts for entombments.
• Operates backhoe under supervision to dig graves without damaging surroundings.
• Installs grave markers and maintains cemetery features.
• Maintains and services equipment and performs minor repairs.
• Keeps vehicles and facilities clean and well-maintained.
• Adheres to OSHA and safety guidelines.
