Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Maintenance Associate to uphold the appearance of our cemetery and related facilities in the Miami area. You will perform grounds keeping, marker installation, and assist with interment setups.

Under supervision, you will operate tools and light equipment, follow safety regulations, and support chapel preparations and grave site maintenance. A high school diploma and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

High school education or its equivalent is required.
At least 6 months of relevant maintenance or grounds experience.
Ability to operate basic hand tools and lawn equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees, walkways and memorial markers, and lays sod.
Moves and removes flowers to and from chapel and graveside.
Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways; may perform snow removal.
Erects tents, canopies and arranges chairs for graveside ceremonies.
Assists with setup for openings and closings for interments and entombments.
Arranges chapel for services and prepares crypts for entombments.
Operates backhoe to dig graves under supervision, avoiding damage.
Installs grave markers and crypt faces; maintains cemetery features.
Maintains, services and stores equipment; routine vehicle maintenance.
Observe safety rules and comply with OSHA and environmental guidelines.
