Job summary

Service Corporation International (SCI) is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance Associate in Parkersburg, WV. You will maintain cemetery grounds, assist with interments, and support chapel setups while following safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Under supervision, you may operate a backhoe for grave digging; you will install and repair grave markers and crypts, and perform general maintenance on vehicles and facilities as needed. This role requires physical stamina and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, rake, lawn mower, etc.).
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods; lift up to 150 lbs with assistance; push/pull up to 300 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cemetery, mausoleum and funeral home appearance, including grounds keeping and interments.
• Cut grass, lay sod, move flowers, and service chapels and gravesides.
• Operate or assist with backhoe under supervision for grave digging.
• Install and repair grave markers, crypt faces and memorials.
• Observe OSHA and safety regulations; comply with corporate procedures.
