Job summary

Everstory Partners in Huntsville, AL seeks a General Manager to lead cemetery and funeral home locations with hands-on operations and strong people leadership. You will own P&L, coach teams, drive sales, and ensure service excellence across portfolios.

The role emphasizes budgeting, vendor relationships, safety compliance, and a culture of compassion. A bachelor's degree and 5+ years in management are preferred; some holidays/evenings/weekends required.

Qualifications

• Strong combination of business operations, quality, continuous improvement, process development and management experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain trust with all stakeholders (customers, business partners, investors, coworkers).
• Experience handling location issues including internal and external customer complaints.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience leading and developing high performing teams.
• Prior experience managing multiple departments within multiple locations.
• Proactive, urgent prioritization and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of portfolio daily operations with full P&L responsibility.
• Achieve or exceed budgeted sales and profit levels and manage costs within guidelines.
• Set the example for excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
• Provide motivational leadership and develop teams to meet goals.
• Lead weekly managers meetings on staffing, development, training, and plans.
• Recruit, hire and retain staff in line with company standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and create development plans with follow-up.
• Manage merchandise and property inventory for each location.
• Influence vendors to address location and customer needs.
• Ensure health and safety standards compliance.
• Select and purchase materials within budget using approved vendors.
