Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company in Louisiana is seeking a Terminal Operator to unload cement from rail cars, move railcars with a track mobile, and perform basic maintenance. The role requires twelve hours or more per shift and may include non‑day work.

You will promote safety, operate equipment including a skid steer and track mobile, lubricate machinery, and assist with loading trucks. A high school diploma and clear English are required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Willingness to learn; training provided.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in written English, verbal communication, and listening.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety regulations; PPE usage.
• Operate railcar mover and track mobile/shuttle wagon.
• Manual dexterity to use air, electrical, and hand tools.
• Team environment adaptability.
• Strong safety mindset and production focus.

Responsibilities

• Unload rail cars and move railcars (empty and full) on site to optimize unloading efficiency and minimize demurrage risk.
• Maintain mobile equipment (tires, brakes, fluids) and lubricate machinery.
• Operate skid steer/bobcat, utility vehicle, and track mobile/shuttle wagon.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
• Keep terminal and equipment clean; inspect for proper operation and repairs.
• Cross-train to load and ticket trucks; provide backup for lead role.
