Job summary

Mountain Cement Company is seeking a Shipping Operator to load bulk cement into trucks and railroad cars at our new state-of-the-art plant. You will perform scale-based loading, weigh trucks, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure compliance with mining regulations and company policies.

The role requires basic computer use, math accuracy, mechanical aptitude, and a strong safety record. Expect 12-hour shifts, heavy lifting, and regular exposure to outdoor conditions at our facility.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of computer operations.
• Able to perform basic mathematics with accuracy.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable attendance and safety record.
• Demonstrates self-direction with minimal supervision.
• Able to give and take directions.
• Able to work with the public in person and by phone.
• Knowledge of safe operation and mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of all work areas at least once per shift.
• Perform area inspections and report issues; minor repairs may be done by the operator.
• Tensioning and replacement of small belt drives (v-belts).
• Check lubrication of machinery and add lubrication as needed.
• Load trucks and railcars with product and ensure compliance with weight laws.
• Prepare railroad bulk cards and inspect/clean bulk cars; seal railcar hatches.
• Move rail cars and spot trucks as needed; operate Track Mobile.
• Collect samples from each loaded bulk car or truck; deliver to shipping.
• Clean silo interiors as required.
• Measure cement levels in storage silos from stairs or ladders.
• Maintain clean work areas to reduce slip/trip hazards.
• Operate mobile equipment with required task training per MSHA.
