Job summary

InterDigital, Inc. in the United States seeks a Patent Portfolio Management Director for cellular-related inventions to oversee the quality, scope, and cost of its cellular patent portfolio.

You will work with engineers, prosecution counsels, and licensing teams to shape strategy and execution. You will lead claim-chart development, coordinate prosecution actions, and participate in portfolio management meetings to align with licensing programs and corporate goals.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of portfolio management experience.
• Aptitude for learning new, complex tech and communicating globally.
• Experience with cellular technologies (LTE, 5G), standards bodies (3GPP), and patent pools.
• Experience reviewing and modifying claim charts; developing claim charts is preferred.
• Willingness to travel, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Review invention disclosures, make filing decisions, and manage prosecution counsels within budget.
• Create/review claim charts with engineers, counsels, and Licensing Support to progress prosecution.
• Develop claim sets and continuation/divisional strategies to support portfolio objectives.
• Participate in portfolio management meetings with engineers, counsels, and Patents team.
• Coordinate with Licensing Support to align portfolios with licensing programs and corporate initiatives.
• Provide feedback to engineers on patent-related topics and track portfolio status.
• Support litigation due diligence and respond to third-party validity challenges.
• Collaborate on patent-related projects including policy reviews and joint ventures.
