Job summary

New York Blood Center (NYBC) seeks an Operational Laboratory Manager to lead day-to-day cell therapy laboratory operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality manufacture of cellular therapy products. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with quality, clinical, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Biology degree with experience in a cell therapy lab.
• 5 years cellular therapy/translational and GTP labs, in vitro cell culture, related analytical labs, experimental and clinical trials studies.
• 3 years managerial experience.
• Experience writing SOPs and assessing competency.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the GTP laboratory manufacturing products and supervise hands-on lab work.
• Identify resources required to compete for business opportunities and perform procedures.
• Collaborate with directors and clients to adopt new procedures.
• Develop SOPs, training documents, and protocol development.
• Ensure quality indicators and regulatory compliance (FDA, etc.).
• Oversee budgeting, timelines, and personnel for projects.
