Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Cell Test Engineer to advance validation programs for battery cells and power systems used in its autonomous delivery aircraft. You will develop test systems, methodologies, and data to characterize cell performance, validate new technologies, and improve safety and reliability of battery packs and power distribution.

The Battery & Power Electronics team supports power throughout the aircraft, from cells to complete packs.

Qualifications

Experience in battery cell engineering and electrochemical testing.
Experience developing or executing battery cell characterization, life testing, and abuse testing.
Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery fundamentals and thermal behavior.
Experience operating lab equipment and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end development of cell validation programs from requirements to analysis and recommendations.
Design validation plans covering electrical, thermal, environmental, and abuse testing.
Develop automated test scripts and data processing pipelines.
Collaborate with battery design, systems engineering, reliability, manufacturing and suppliers.
