Job summary

Pratt Whitney in Asheville, NC is seeking a manufacturing operations supervisor to lead daily activities, guide teams, and coordinate with support groups to align with production goals. You will establish work schedules, drive continuous improvement, mentor employees, and ensure safety, quality, and cost targets are met through disciplined execution of the Standard Production System (SPS).

  • Perform daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication, and execution with support group members.
  • Establish work schedules and monthly delivery plans considering resource availability that align with customer needs and satisfy financial obligations.
  • Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the Standard Production System (SPS) including but not limited to tiered accountability, visual management system(s), leader standard work, and demonstrating clear focus on accountability to daily results.
  • Rapid identification of root cause and effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Drive development of a strong problem‑solving culture through application of tools.
  • Champion sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through the system’s various elements.
  • Communicate to peers requirements at supporting process to ensure smooth process flow.
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship.
  • Drive world‑class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.
  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer happiness.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of manufacturing/operations experience OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of manufacturing/operations experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in an operations or manufacturing setting required.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.

Role Type

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about the role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
