Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, seeks a Cell Leader to guide one or more Cells using CORE, LEAN and continuous improvement to boost quality, throughput and delivery integrity.

Based at US location North Berwick, this on-site role requires leadership of multi-skilled teams, training, safety compliance and coordination across three shifts. Occasional off-shift overlap may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, CI or related field.
• Associate degree with 4+ years in engineering, manufacturing operations or CI.
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent with 6+ years in engineering or manufacturing CI.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to a multi-skilled team engaged in manufacture and repair of jet engine components.
• Ensure employees are trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Manage performance reviews, toolbox meetings, and clear communications of goals and policies.
• Bridge business objectives across three operating shifts.

What You Will Do

The Cell Leader is responsible for providing leadership to one or more Business Unit Cells by applying CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), LEAN and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity.

• Provide leadership and guidance to multi-skilled group of team members engaged in the manufacture and repair of jet engine components.
• Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Execute business decisions fairly, conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives.
• Able to bridge business objectives across (3) operating shifts.
• Support all legal obligations such as United States Government contracting and Administration of FAA policies and procedures.
• Sets day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
• Responsible for making modifications in systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the work area.
• Have flexibility for shift overlap and occasional off shift work as needed

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelors degree and minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment OR an Associate's degree and 4 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
• In absence of a degree, High School diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures

Qualifications We Prefer

• Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation & coaching skills
• Working knowledge of new product/process technologies

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
