Job summary

RTX is seeking a Cell Leader in the United States (North Berwick, ME area) to lead one or more cells, applying CORE and LEAN methods to improve quality, throughput, and delivery. You will guide a multi-skilled team in jet engine component manufacture and repair, ensuring safety and training, while communicating goals and policies across shifts.

You will support FAA and US government contracting requirements, set daily objectives, and drive process changes to boost effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in engineering/manufacturing/continuous improvement or related field.
  • Associate's degree with 7+ years in engineering/manufacturing/continuous improvement or related field.
  • High School diploma/GED with 9+ years in engineering/manufacturing operations or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-skilled group across 3 shifts to manufacture and repair jet engine components.
  • Ensure employees are trained and work in a safe, environmentally sound manner.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, toolbox meetings, and ensure consistent policy application and communication of goals.
  • Bridge business objectives across three operating shifts and comply with FAA policies and US government contracting.
  • Set day-to-day goals and modify systems to improve effectiveness of the work area.
  • Occasional off-shift work and shift overlap as needed.

What You Will Do :

The Cell Leader is responsible for providing leadership to one or more Business Unit Cells by applying CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), LEAN and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to multi-skilled group of team members engaged in the manufacture and repair of jet engine components.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Execute business decisions fairly conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Able to bridge business objectives across (3) operating shifts.
  • Support all legal obligations such as United States Government contracting and Administration of FAA policies and procedures.
  • Sets day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
  • Responsible for making modifications in systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the work area.
  • Have flexibility for shift overlap and occasional off shift work as needed
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree and minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment OR an Associate's degree and 7 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
  • In absence of a degree, High School diploma/GED or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation & coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of new product/process technologies

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.This role is a U.S.-based role.
