Job summary

Plastipak is seeking an experienced production supervisor to direct and coordinate manufacturing activities at our Atlanta site. You will oversee line performance, ensure product quality, and maintain strict adherence to safety and ISO standards, while collaborating with schedulers to meet schedules.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, equipment monitoring, and driving continuous improvement across operations to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

Job description

Directs and coordinates activities of production lines in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate.

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.
  • Working with site schedulers, plans production schedules, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises work instructions, working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data from PICS (SAP).
  • Maintaining a high level of motivation in the Cell, Housekeeping and safety
  • Ensures that the Site Quality Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times.
  • Must be able to build a strong working relationship with customers.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Initiate action for food safety issues.
