Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Cell Lead to translate drawings into CNC programs and oversee a small machining cell. You will create setup sheets, select tooling, and optimize cycles for yield and cost while guiding setups on CNC lathes and mills.

The role requires 1+ year programming, 4+ years machining, proficiency in Mastercam or Hypermill, and solid blueprint/GD&T skills. Strong leadership and safety alignment to OSHA and QMS are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or technical cert is a plus.
• 1+ year of programming experience.
• 4+ years of machining experience (or manager-approved equivalent).
• Mastercam or Hypermill proficiency; strong general computer skills.
• Strong blueprint reading; moderate GD&T required (strong preferred).
• Hands-on skill with machinist gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Experience across diverse materials: steel, aluminum, stainless, plastic, titanium, copper, ceramic, etc.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer drawings/specs into CNC lathe/mill programs using Mastercam or Hypermill.
• Create 3D models or 2D drawings as needed from customer inputs.
• Produce setup sheets; choose tooling and define offsets to optimize cycle time, yield, and cost.
• Instruct and support setups on CNC mills and lathes; solve programming and process issues.
• Drive purchasing requisitions for tooling/BOM; collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues.
• Perform in-process checks using calipers and inspection equipment.
• Lead a cell with up to three CNC machines and up to one operator; manage day-to-day priorities.
