Job summary

The Whitehead Institute in Cambridge, MA is seeking a technically skilled assistant to support large-scale cell biology research. You will perform cell culture, operate high-throughput microscopy, and help run automated workflows for optical pooled screens in our Cheeseman lab.

A Bachelor's in biology and at least two years in a lab are required. Experience with microscopy, molecular biology, and computational data analysis is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field required.
• 2+ years in a research laboratory; FT lab experience may be required for higher title.
• Experience with microscopy-based approaches is desirable.
• Proficient in basic lab techniques and principles of molecular biology.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of optical pooled screens to drive lab objectives.
• Perform cell culture maintenance and operate high-throughput microscopy equipment.
• Use dedicated fluidics automation to rapidly generate screens.
• Contribute to design, execution, and analysis of pooled screening experiments.
• Present data in oral and written reports and at lab meetings.
