Job summary

AECOM is seeking a CEI Senior Inspector in the Orlando, FL area to support construction engineering and inspection efforts in line with FDOT standards and contract requirements. You will inspect, test, and document complex field activities, while supervising junior inspectors and ensuring project milestones are met.

Candidate should have a High School Diploma with 4+ years of CEI experience, hold necessary CTQP certifications, and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma with 4+ years CEI experience or equivalent
• Valid US driver’s license; pass Motor Vehicle Records review
• CTQP certifications listed above are required or preferred
• Experience inspecting roadway/bridge projects per FDOT standards

Responsibilities

• Perform complex field surveying and construction layout with precision
• Verify engineering computations and conduct field testing for quality control
• Oversee junior inspectors and guide inspection activities
• Operate under supervision but exercise independent judgment daily
• Plan, prioritize, and manage project goals and timelines
• Ensure project milestones and turnover deliverables are met
• Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to new staff
• Monitor conformance to quality and safety specifications and codes
• Conduct daily field inspections and maintain inspection records
• Participate in punch list creation, testing, and commissioning
• Track QA progress and address deficiencies promptly
• Contribute to project closeout documentation and turnover packages

Job description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector to join our team and support ongoing construction engineering and inspection efforts in the Orlando, FL area. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that major transportation and infrastructure projects are delivered in accordance with FDOT standards, contract requirements, and overall project objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex technical assignments related to field surveying and construction layout, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications
• Verifies engineering computations, inspects construction work, and conducts field testing to maintain quality and compliance standards
• Coordinates, oversees, and provides guidance to junior inspectors to ensure consistent execution of inspection activities
• Operates under the general supervision of the Project Administrator while exercising independent judgment in daily responsibilities
• Utilizes experience and sound judgment to effectively plan, prioritize, and accomplish project goals
• Establishes and manages project timelines and deadlines to support overall project delivery
• Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to new team members to support their development and integration
• Monitors conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and applicable code requirements through detailed inspection activities
• Conducts daily field inspections and maintains accurate, organized inspection records and reports
• Participates in punch list development, system testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion standards are met
• Tracks and reports on quality assurance progress, identifying and addressing any deficiencies
• Contributes to documentation for area and equipment turnover packages, ensuring completeness and accuracy for project closeout

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
• Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
