Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC seeks a CEI Project Manager with extensive CEI experience, especially on TDOT projects in Tennessee. The role leads CEI teams, manages budgets, schedules, and quality, and serves as the primary client contact.

The candidate will mentor staff, review documents, coordinate field activities, and support BD efforts. Occasional travel and a TN PE license are preferred, with opportunities for a hybrid/onsite work arrangement in Murfreesboro, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of CEI experience, with TDOT project exposure.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage budgets.
• Valid TN driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage all CEI projects per TDOT and municipal requirements, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Serve as primary client contact including TDOT personnel and contractors.
• Supervise and mentor project administrators, senior inspectors, and field staff.
• Provide leadership and oversight to CEI teams on multiple projects.
• Review construction docs, pay estimates, and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate field activities, inspections, testing, and closeout.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead project meetings and report status to Division Manager and clients.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
• Ensure training and performance management of staff.
