Job summary

HMB is seeking a CEI Inspector in Murfreesboro, TN for field surveying, construction layout, and inspections on TDOT projects. The role involves coordinating lower level inspectors, performing field tests, and maintaining inspection records.

The Inspector will work in Nashville or Chattanooga with travel as required. A high school diploma and 8+ years CEI experience are required; TN driver’s license and clean MVR are essential. TDOT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CEI experience including work on TDOT projects.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments.
• Valid TN Driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• The Inspector will be assigned to work in Nashville or Chattanooga, TN.
• Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors.
• Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
• Sets own project deadlines.
• Provides on the job training to new employees.
• Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Tracks quality assurance progress.
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

• Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold.
• Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible.
• Daily travel and or overnight stays may be required depending on project needs.
• Valid TN Driver's license, have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check
