Job summary

Lochner is seeking an experienced construction inspector to join our Fort Myers, FL office. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in road and bridge construction inspection, alongside relevant certifications. You will be responsible for inspecting construction work and conducting field tests under the supervision of the Project Administrator.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in construction inspection, including one year in bridge/roadway inspection.
• Familiarity with FDOT Procedures relevant to project duties.

Education and Years’ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years’ experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree (requires certificate).

Responsibilities

Road & bridge construction engineering inspection (CEI) experience having performed/assisted in project related duties. Responsible for inspecting construction work and conducting field testing. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator. Should be able to exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to construction and the office aspects of the project. Should be familiar with FDOT Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and be proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform these duties.

Qualifications

Experience Needed: Road & bridge construction engineering inspection (CEI) experience having performed/assisted in project related duties. Should be familiar with FDOT Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and be proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform these duties.

• CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I

• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)
