Job summary

Accelerant seeks a meticulous Reinsurance Operations Associate to support SOX controls, treaty placement, and contract management. You will prepare evidence for quarterly controls, gather information for markets, maintain contract records, and collaborate with underwriters, legal, and RI ops in a fast-paced virtual team.

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years in ceded reinsurance are required; strong MS Office skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Ceded Reinsurance / Insurance.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Understanding of reinsurance structures (proportional, non-proportional, facultative) and ceded reinsurance processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a virtual team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration both in person and virtual.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• SOX CONTROLS (quarterly): Prepare reports and gather evidence.
• Assist in the Reinsurance Treaty placement: request information and prepare submission packs.
• Contract management: maintain records and support implementation of IronClad; start signature process when ready.
• Assist in preparation of reinsurance data for audits.
• Facultative placement: liaise with UWs/MRDs, review documents, and share with reinsurance ops.

Job description

Responsibilities

• SOX CONTROLS (quarterly):
  • Prepare report for the contract management control – get evidence.
  • Prepare report for the reinsurance credit rating – get evidence.
  • Prepare report for the reinsurance contract main terms control – get evidence.
  • Liaise with actuaries about Risk Transfer report needed for the control.
  • Improve controls for efficiency and work on new controls as needed (example: assist by reviewing information given by Reinsurance Ops when new Reinsurance platform is live).
• ASSIST IN THE REINSURANCE TREATY PLACEMENT:
  • Request information from other teams to prepare the submission to markets – review the final submission pack;
  • Prepare resumes and schematics (other reports like sliding scale that are currently in excel file which hopefully are going to be in the new reinsurance platform).
  • Support to prepare TO BOOK email for finance/ RI ops (when new reinsurance app is working support by adding info into the platform)
• CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
  • Maintain accurate records of reinsurance contracts, endorsements, and correspondence (save in folders).
  • Work with the team that is implementing ironclad (contract management tool).
  • When IronClad is up and running 100%: start the signature process of all documents.
• Assist in preparation of reinsurance data for internal and external audits.
• FACULTATIVE PLACEMENT:
  • Liaise with UWs/MRDs to ensure Accelerant policy and procedures are being followed.
  • Review documents (contract/endorsements) and share it with legal.
  • Once placement is done share with reinsurance ops.
