Empower Rental Group is seeking a CEC Lube Technician to perform advanced diagnostics and maintenance on heavy equipment, both at customer sites and on mobile service calls in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Qualifications

• Basic understanding of industry-central software(s) (RentalMan, Smart Equip, MS Office (Excel)).
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, powertrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality service standards.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused, sales-oriented mindset.
• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience in the heavy equipment or construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and Repair: Perform all levels of general repair and preventative maintenance on all systems. Diagnose complex issues with heavy equipment powertrain, engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems using computer analyzers and traditional troubleshooting methods. Complete complex repairs to construction, aerial, and earthmoving machinery. Conduct detailed inspections to ensure equipment compliance and functionality. Repair or replace parts as required within the defined expectations of the task. Complete simple repairs May perform minor repairs on small fleet.
• Maintenance: Complete mobile preventative maintenance tasks such as changing filters, checking hydraulic fluid and coolant, checking tire pressure, and filling tires with air according to manufacturer specifications. Thoroughly inspect and conduct basic walk-around checks to look for leaks, structural cracks, or damaged hoses. Lubricate moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings, and ensure the engine is kept clean throughout service. Cleans Equipment. Assists other mechanics with tasks such as lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Sales and Customer Communication: Serve as a technical resource for customers. Assist customers with questions or concerns related to maintenance, repairs, service needs, and equipment operation and performance. Communicate with customers regarding diagnostics, repair needs, and recommended service plans. Promote maintenance packages, repair services, and parts. Upsell and schedule follow-up services. Assist customers with loading and unloading fleet orders. Performs some minor diagnosis of issues with the fleet. Completes small fleet repairs. Maintains a safe work environment. Performs job functions safely at all times. Participates in all safety meetings. Communicates all concerns or violations to the appropriate manager(s) immediately. Uses the proper Personal Protective Equipment when performing work duties. Employee wears the proper shoes, glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc. Employee is properly attired to perform their job safely (no loose-fitting clothes, unsafe jewelry, etc.)

Summary

The CEC Lube Technician plays a critical dual role by performing advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment while actively promoting and selling maintenance and repair services. The Technician performs maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment for customers and completes service calls on units at customer sites, as assigned. The Technician also completes mobile preventative maintenance as needed for all types of aerial equipment, earthmoving equipment, material handling, and warehouse equipment. This position combines technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to ensure both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will be mechanically skilled, self-motivated, and comfortable engaging with customers to recommend appropriate service solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of hydraulic, powertrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality service standards.

• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience in the heavy equipment or construction industry preferred.
• Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills – for both internal and external customers.
• Extensive experience in diagnostics and repair of heavy equipment.
• The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports.
• Must have their own basic set of tools.

Physical Requirements

The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time, and lifting over 50 pounds. Ability to lift and move heavy components and tools up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors and in various field environments. Manual dexterity and physical stamina to work with mechanical tools and parts for extended periods. Ability to operate service trucks and diagnostic equipment safely.

Licenses and Certification Requirements

A Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and the ability to drive Company vehicles per insurance requirements may be required on a case-by-case basis.
