ABOUT US

1-3 years of successful prior teaching experience. Experience andpassion for working with people, including young children, adults,seniors, and community organizations. Ability to communicate ideasand concepts and demonstrate techniques to people of differentages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Positive attitude,excellent communication skills, openness to new ideas, self-starterattitude, and willingness to work with professionals in otherdisciplines. Must be willing to respond to emails from theCoordinator quickly. Must be willing to respond promptly toinquiries from students or their families. The ability to teachmore than one discipline is a plus. Must be comfortable with email,social media outlets, and texting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach weekly private oboe lessons to non-credit adult students andchildren enrolled in the Community Music and Arts Center programs.Organize and maintain a consistent teaching schedule. Communicateto parents and adult students regarding scheduling, progress,recitals, practice, and signing up for lessons. Prepare studentsfor recitals, performances, and activities. Participate inrecruitment activities in and outside of the division. Integratetechnology into the delivery of instruction. Attend department andfaculty meetings. Attend other meetings when requested. Be activeon social media outlets for the purpose of promoting theprogram.
