Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation seeks a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) to evaluate and train individuals with physical, cognitive, or visual impairments to drive safely. The role includes clinical and behind-the-wheel assessments and collaboration to create rehabilitation plans.

Candidates must hold the CDRS credential, have a valid license, and at least 2 years in driver rehab. Travel 75-100%; on-site in San Antonio, TX; focus on adaptive equipment and DMV compliance.

Qualifications

• CDRS credential through ADED required.
• Current driver's license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years in driver training or related field.
• Experience with neurological or medically complex populations preferred.
• Familiarity with DMV rules and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive driver evaluations, including vision, cognition, and behind-the-wheel assessments.
• Identify functional limitations affecting driving performance.
• Provide structured, individualized driver training with adaptive equipment when needed.
• Teach compensatory strategies and safe driving behaviors for neurological patients.
• Ensure documentation and reporting to referral sources and physicians.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in care planning.
