Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist to evaluate and train individuals with neurological or physical impairments to drive safely, including behind-the-wheel assessments and adaptive equipment recommendations.

The role emphasizes independent work in home, school, work, and community settings, with substantial travel and a focus on functional, real-life driving scenarios. ADED credential and current license are required.

Qualifications

• Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) credential through ADED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in driver training, mobility instruction, transportation safety, or related driver rehabilitation work.
• Experience with neurological or medically complex populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive driver evaluations including intake, vision, cognitive, perceptual, motor, and behind-the-wheel assessments.
• Identify functional limitations impacting driving performance.
• Provide structured, individualized driver training with adaptive equipment as needed.
• Teach compensatory strategies and safe driving behaviors for neurological and physical impairments.
• Complete accurate documentation and discharge recommendations.
