Job description

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the lot at the end of the route. May occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing product, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated times.
• Unload product from trailers using hand or hand cart, placing items in designated storage areas, including navigating ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
• Frequently lift, push, or move items weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72 inches to stack/unstack pallets and handle hand carts; bend and twist during loading/unloading and retrieving items from trailers.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures; contact management for invoice discrepancies; communicate errors/returns.
• Report any delivery issues such as shorts.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Properly handle company equipment, follow safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift, push, or move product weighing 40-60 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds.
• Flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer delivery experience.
• At least 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience.
• At least 6 months of Food and Beverage industry experience.
• Two years of consistent work history preferred.
