Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver to haul live chickens from area farms to a processing facility. This local role offers daily home time, a Monday–Friday schedule, and a $5,000 bonus.

Expect about 3 inbound loads per day on a flatbed trailer, with start times 12:00 PM–4:00 PM and 1–2 Saturdays per month. Earn around $75,000 per year with a $1,500 weekly average. Home daily, non-SAP, DOT medical card required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Clean driving record.
• No SAP drivers.
• Ability to secure chicken cages and safely handle a cheater bar.
• Operate safely on uneven farm roads and challenging terrain.
• Live haul experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from poultry farms to the processing facility.
• Operate a flatbed trailer carrying chicken cages.
• Complete an average of approximately 3 inbound loads per day.
• Secure chicken cages to the flatbed using a cheater bar.
• Navigate farm conditions, including grades, bumps, and ditches.
• Live haul experience preferred, but not required.
