Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) Seattle is seeking a Hostler to support transportation and yard operations by safely moving trailers, coordinating placements, monitoring refrigerated equipment, fueling tractors, and preparing trailers for loading. This hands-on role is essential to sustain efficient transportation and on-time deliveries.

The position runs four 10-hour days starting at 6:00 a.m., onsite at a transportation yard with indoor/outdoor duties and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required and DOT medical certification.
• Minimum three years tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and yard safety practices.
• Ability to monitor reefer temperatures and interpret readings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Operate yard tractors, switchers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move and position trailers for loading, unloading, and dispatch operations.
• Coordinate trailer locations with warehouse and transportation teams.
• Verify departure schedules and ensure proper tractor and trailer assignments.
• Monitor and inspect refrigerated trailer temperatures.
• Fuel tractors and refrigeration units as needed.
• Clean and prepare returning trailers for warehouse loading operations.
• Wash trailer interiors and maintain equipment cleanliness standards.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and report equipment concerns.
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures.
