Quality Custom Distribution in Kent, WA is hiring for a full-time yard tractor/trailer operator. The role begins at 6:00 AM with a 4-day, 10-hour schedule (Sunday–Wednesday) and is primarily on-site at a transportation yard and distribution facility.

This position requires a valid CDL-A, DOT medical certification, and knowledge of DOT regulations. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather, with teamwork and safety as priorities.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A required.
• Minimum 3 years tractor-trailer driving preferred.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Knowledge of transportation operations and DOT regulations.
• Ability to interpret refrigerated temperature readings.

Responsabilités

• Operate yard tractors, switchers, and other CMCE equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move and position trailers for loading, unloading, and dispatch operations.
• Coordinate trailer locations with warehouse and transportation teams.
• Verify departure schedules and ensure proper tractor and trailer assignments.
• Monitor and inspect refrigerated trailer temperatures.
• Fuel tractors and refrigeration units as needed.
• Clean and prepare returning trailers for warehouse loading operations.
• Wash trailer interiors regularly and maintain equipment cleanliness standards.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and report equipment concerns.
• Follow all DOT, company safety, and yard operating procedures.

Schedule, Routes & Equipment:

• Full-time position beginning at 6:00 AM
• 4-day, 10-hour schedule | Sunday - Wednesday
• Primarily on-site at a transportation yard & distribution facility
• Work performed indoors & outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Frequent walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, & equipment operation
• Weekends & holidays may be included in the regular schedule
• Overtime is required when operational needs arise & may extend the scheduled shift

Requirements:

• Valid CDL-A
• Minimum 3 years of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current DOT medical certification
• Knowledge of transportation operations, DOT regulations, & yard safety practices
• Ability to interpret & monitor reefer temperature readings
• Strong communication & teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently & manage priorities safely
• Ability to lift, carry, push, & pull up to 100 pounds as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather & temperature conditions
• Ability to climb in & out of equipment, manually crank landing gear, & perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
