Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking an on-site Yard Associate responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers to and from dock doors. You will communicate all movements to the Shipping lead and ensure loads are secured before docking.

Responsibilities include operating a hydraulic fifth wheel and TADC (53’ dry van), keeping trailers free of debris, verifying policies and laws are followed, and reporting any yard issues to the manager on duty.

Qualifications

• Operate hydraulic fifth wheel and TADC with 53’ dry van.
• Safely move trailers in/out of dock doors for loading/unloading.
• Ensure trailers are clean and debris-free before docking.
• Adhere to company policies and state, local, and federal laws.
• Ensure load is secured before dropping trailer.
• Report yard operation issues to the on‑duty manager.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from dock doors safely.
• Communicate all movements to Shipping lead.
• Ensure trailers are clean and ready for docking.
• Ensure loads are secured before dropping trailer.
• Note repairs needed on assets prior to preloading.
• Perform daily shift communication transition before start of shift.
