Job summary

Pratt Industries in Valparaiso, IN, is seeking an On-Site Class A CDL Truck Driver responsible for safe, efficient trailer movement to and from dock doors. You will communicate movements to the Shipping lead and ensure loads are secured and trailers are prepped for loading and unloading.

Responsibilities include operating a hydraulic fifth wheel/TADC, maintaining clean trailers, abiding by DOT and company policies, and reporting yard issues to the on-duty Manager. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with no airbrake restrictions
• DOT medical exam and drug test clearance
• Read/write/speak English clearly
• Seven-year MVR and 10-year employment/education history traceability
• No major violations in last 3–10 years as specified in DOT rules

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to/from dock doors safely and efficiently
• Communicate movements to Shipping lead
• Ensure trailers are clean and debris-free before docking
• Secure loads prior to dropping trailer
• Report yard issues to Manager on duty
• Note and correct any asset repair needs before preloading assets
• Complete daily shift communication transition before start of shift
