Job summary

Dexter is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move trailers around the yard and support efficient warehouse operations. This role positions trailers at docks, staging areas, and parking spots to enable loading and unloading without delays.

You will operate yard trucks, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, communicate with drivers and warehouse staff, and report any equipment issues. A Class A CDL and ability to work outdoors are required; overtime and 12-hour shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Fluency in English to read work instructions.
• Safety-focused with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to work overtime, including 12-hour days.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from dock doors, staging areas, and yard locations.
• Position trailers securely at loading docks.
• Communicate with warehouse teams and drivers to coordinate trailer moves.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and equipment.
• Track and record trailer locations and movements.
• Operate yard trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report equipment issues, damage, or safety concerns to supervision.
• Follow all company, DOT, and safety procedures.
