Job summary

Dexter is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move trailers around the yard and keep warehouse operations running efficiently. This role is all about positioning trailers at dock doors, staging areas, and parking spots so loading and unloading can happen without delays.

If you’re comfortable operating yard equipment, working outdoors, and staying focused in a fast-paced environment, this is a solid, steady position with full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Safety-focused with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• 3 years of flatbed or similar driving experience (not required).

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to/from dock doors, staging areas, and yard locations.
• Position trailers correctly and secure them at loading docks.
• Coordinate trailer moves with warehouse teams and drivers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and equipment.
• Track and record trailer locations and movements.
• Operate yard trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report equipment issues, damage, or safety concerns to supervision.
• Follow company and safety procedures at all times.
