Job summary

Morgan Steel LLC is seeking a Yard Driver in Memphis, TN to safely move trailers within the yard and support loading/unloading operations. You will operate yard trucks, coordinate with warehouse teams, and adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a Class A CDL and at least 1 year of flatbed driving experience; night shifts are available to support operations at the steel distribution center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class A CDL is required.
• At least 1 year of flatbed driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating large vehicles in confined spaces is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard trucks to transport trailers within the yard.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to position trailers for loading/unloading.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and trailers.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory.
• Assist in loading/unloading trailers as needed, ensuring secure handling of materials.
• Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to optimize yard operations.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
