Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a full-time CDL driver to operate commercial vehicles across various Virginia job sites.

Position requires a Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, a clean driving record, and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening. Overtime and weekend work may be required; entry includes potential manual labor tasks to support projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle in diverse conditions across Virginia.
• Adhere to DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain reports.
• Maintain mileage logs and work tickets.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and well-maintained.
• Support health and safety policies of the company.
• Establish a positive working relationship with coworkers.
• Perform manual labor tasks as needed to support projects.

Requirements

• Class B CDL
• Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Manual Transmission, preferred
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access, preferred
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Location: Various Jobsites

Working Hours: Start time is 6:00 AM. Overtime and weekends may be required.

For this role the hourly range is $20.00-$30.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
