Job summary

Waste Management is seeking CDL-licensed drivers to operate heavy-duty trucks for residential, commercial, and roll-off routes. You will perform inspections, back up with precise maneuvers, and safely handle waste and recyclables while navigating urban and suburban environments.

Candidates must have 1 year of CDL driving or equivalent military experience, be at least 18, and pass pre-employment checks. Strong English communication and safety focus are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
• 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug screen and physical.
• Certified CDL with air-brake endorsement (Class A or Class B).

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle in accordance with Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Report unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager.
• Attend scheduled training programs and meetings.
• Improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
• Assist other drivers to meet customer needs.
