Job summary

The Hershey Company in Plymouth, IN is hiring a Yard Driver responsible for shuttling trailers, moving equipment, and supporting warehouse operations at the Plymouth plant.

This role requires a valid CDL Class A, certification for forklift, yard tractor and MHE, plus the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a related skills test. We offer competitive pay, health benefits and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• CDL Class A in good standing and DOT compliance.
• Forklift, Yard Tractor, and MHE certifications.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Passing score on the Math skills test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Yard Tractor and move trailers on the lot.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Operate Material Handling equipment and perform safety checks.
• Maintain food safety awareness and report issues to management.
• Follow SQF policies and procedures.
• Inspect and verify shipments and documentation.
• Attach identifying tags to materials as needed.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and proper lot control.
• Read and interpret shipping documents, gauges, schedules, and dispatches.
• Move materials in and out of storage safely.
• Communicate with customers, drivers and dispatchers to ensure smooth transitions.
• Assist with warehouse tasks as needed.

Pay:

• Starting at $26.39/hr
• Biweekly pay

Shifts:

• Day and night shifts available
• 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am)
• Plant operates on various schedules (schedule assignment determined by candidate preference and plant needs):
• 2-2-3 schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation.Working 3-4 days/week (One week: Sun, Wed, ThursNext week:Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat).

Summary:

Responsible for shuttling trailers to and from satellite warehouse(s), moving trailers around the property lot, and tracking trailer locations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Yard Tractor equipment while maneuvering trailers on the property lot.
• All pre and post-trip inspections must be completed and documented in appropriate forms.
• Safely operate all Material Handling equipment and perform the necessary safety checks prior to operating.
• Always maintain food safety awareness and immediately report any issues to management.
• Operate within the guidelines of all SQF policies and procedures.
• Perform all necessary inspections and verifications.
• Correctly attach identifying tags or labels to materials as needed.
• Make all transactions withinS4 Hanato ensure inventory accuracy and lot control are always maintained.
• Comprehend the reading of shipping & receiving documents, gauges, schedules, and dispatches.
• Move materials in and out of storage safely and without damage.
• Generate all necessary shipping documents viaS4 Hana.
• Check shipping documents for accuracy prior to making copies for the driver.
• Communicate to customers, drivers, dispatchers, etc., at the window or by phone and with oncoming crew to ensure a smooth transition.
• Assist with warehouse work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Class A CDL in good standing and maintained as required under DOT
• Forklift certification, Yard Tractor Certification, M.H.E. Certification.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
• Passing score on the Math skills test
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
