Community Bridges is seeking a Van Driver-Commercial License to provide door-to-door transportation for seniors and people with mobility challenges in California. You will operate a specially equipped van, perform pre-trip checks, and ensure safe passenger handling and documentation compliance.

The role emphasizes safe driving under California laws, assisting passengers, and maintaining vehicle readiness while reporting any concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• California driving laws and regulations.
• Safely transporting elderly and disabled passengers.
• Identify significant changes in passenger condition and report them.
• Reading street maps and following directions.
• Work independently with sound judgment in emergencies.
• Maintain standard records and vehicle cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with diverse passenger populations.
• Must speak English.

Responsibilities

• Drives a van to pick up and drop off elderly and/or disabled passengers safely.
• Ensures lifts and tie-downs are operational and passengers are transported safely.
• Plans routes and adjusts to changes while following schedules.
• Assists ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers on/off the vehicle.
• Collects donations and reports to administration in a timely manner.
• Performs pre-trip inspections and maintains vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintains logs of passengers, miles, and fuel; submits paperwork daily.
