Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Columbus, OH is seeking a Utility Driver to service customers by collecting trash and recycling with various trucks. The role includes pre/post trip inspections, route responsibilities, and interacting professionally with customers.

You must have a valid Class B CDL, be at least 19, and willing to work nights and weekends. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
Ability to enter/exit the truck 300–500 times daily.
Ability to read and understand a map for routing.
Ability to drive all trucks in the fleet.
General knowledge of truck mechanics.
Strong written and verbal communication with customers.
Must read and speak English well enough to understand safety training.

Responsibilities

Provide trash or recycling removal services safely by emptying containers into the truck.
Operate various types of trucks and/or complete routes.
Enter/exit the truck 300–500 times daily, depending on route.
Pickup missed stops and/or routes as needed.
Deliver and replace containers neatly at curb or designated area.
Clean spills and ensure truck cleanliness.
Maintain route and driver log sheets.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and logs.
Interact professionally with customers and provide excellent service.
