DCC invites applications for a part‑time Commercial Vehicle Operator Adjunct Instructor at Avondale, LA. The role supports classroom, yard, and road driving training, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining student records.

Strong driving history, CDL Class A, and five years of verifiable tractor trailer experience are required. Preferred is Driver Training Instructor license and prior teaching or driver‑trainer experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid CDL Class A license.
• Minimum 5 years verifiable tractor trailer driving experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle safety and FMCSA/CDL requirements.
• Driver Training Instructor license preferred but not required.
• Prior teaching or driver-trainer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction and driving training (yard and road).
• Teach safety concepts and regulations and perform record keeping.
• Monitor student progress and provide individualized coaching.
• Maintain student records and progress reports.
• Foster a professional learning environment; liaise with third-party testers.
